Team: Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training (SAT)
Product: Phishing emails
Summary: What to do when not receiving emails (including phishing emails)
Your email gateway may be blocking emails from Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training. First, check your spam folder to see if the message arrived there. If you do not see the message in your spam folder, please have your IT department allow list the following Security Awareness Training IP address:
168.245.36.66
Alternatively, you may also allow list our sending domains which are used to send email notifications from Huntress's Managed Security Awareness Training.
*.mycurricula.com
click.mycurricula.com
alerts.mycurricula.com
media.mycurricula.com
*.getcurricula.com
*.curricula.com
If you are a sub-account of a channel partner and want to configure assignment notifications for managed assignments, be sure to toggle "Manage settings at the company level" in assignment settings. By default, managed learning assignments ignore these settings and use the ones your channel partner has set up. To override these settings, enable Manage settings at the company level and hit Update.
If learners aren't receiving phishing emails, there's a few things to check
Allow Lists
- Have all allow list settings been put in place per the appropriate allow list guides for SAT platform?
- Be sure to look over each guide that may apply and follow the specific steps.
- Less likely, but also add in the Huntress specific domains to your allow lists
Delivery Method
If you have configured a Provider in the Huntress SAT platform, you are likely using API-delivery of emails. These emails will not include a message trace in your email platform. Instead, view the Notifications Log to see if the emails were sent and delivered.
- To verify if you are using API delivery, browse to your Phishing tab in the Huntress SAT platform > click the name of the Campaign your learner did not receive > Details tab > check the "Driver" type at the end of the learner name section.
- If the Driver shows API, then API was used for delivery.
- If the Driver shows "Standard," then API was not used and you should be able to track the email in an email trace.
Email Address
- What email are you sending the phish email to?
- The Managed SAT platform does not work with "personal" email accounts (ie: free accounts like gmail, yahoo, msn, etc...) and should be tied to a verified business email
- If the email was newly created on your email provider, give it time to propagate all permissions. For many email platforms, this takes at least 30 minutes.
- Check for any misspellings of the email, or possible alias usage.
-
Perform Domain Verification by sending a test email to an email address tied to the domain that will be receiving phish emails. Multiple domains can be added.
