Environment: Learners Tab & Directory Sync
Summary: Updating Learner email addresses manually within the Huntress Managed SAT portal may be required prior to Active Directory sync in order to maintain Learner's training history.
Currently, when a Learner's email address is updated via Directory Sync, they are enrolled as new users in Huntress SAT, resulting in the loss of their training history. This is due to how the sync happens. The linked system just sends us a list of users without any additional context about the change.
For now, the only way to avoid this is through the manual process of updating the Learner's email address within Huntress SAT before the Directory Sync occurs.
If a Directory Sync has already occurred and you're now faced with the existence of both the new and old Learner email address, you will want to do the following:
- Ensure the new learner identity hasn't taken any actions like interacting with phishing simulation messages or completed assignments
- Delete the new Learner identity
- Change the email address of the pre-existing Learner to the new email address
- Save your changes by clicking "Update"
To delete the new Learner and update the pre-existing Learner's email address:
- Access your Huntress SAT Account Portal
- Identify the incorrect newly created Learner
- Delete the newly created Learner
Identify the pre-existing Learner(s) you wish to update
Select the Learner and input the new email address
- Click "Update" to save the change
