Overview
This article covers which mailboxes Huntress Email Security protects, how to add and remove mailboxes from protection, and what happens when a user's license changes.
Which Mailboxes Are Protected
ES protects mailboxes that are activated in the Email Security section of the Huntress platform. A mailbox must be active for ES to:
Analyze the mail delivered to it.
Remediate malicious messages in it.
Process user reports of messages it received.
Adding New Mailboxes
When a new user is added to the tenant, ES activates the mailbox automatically, so newly created mailboxes are protected without manual intervention.
Removing a License: Automatic Roll-Off
If a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace license is removed from a mailbox, ES handles the change automatically. The mailbox rolls off protection and stops counting toward your ES usage without any manual cleanup. You do not need to deactivate the mailbox in ES separately when offboarding a user.
