SUMMARY: Fix unresponsive or failing Huntress components on Windows Server 2012 (not R2) endpoints using PsExec.
Overview
If the Huntress Agent, Rio, or Updater components stop responding or fail to check in on a Windows Server 2012 (not R2) endpoint, follow the steps below to restart the service using PsExec.
How to resolve
- Install PsExec on the affected endpoint.

Run the following script in an elevated PowerShell window:
psexec /s sc stop HuntressRio sc start HuntressAgent sc start HuntressRio - Important: if the server has an uptime greater than 7 days, consider a reboot after running the script.
- Submit a ticket with Support (support@huntress.com) for additional Rio remediations. Please be sure to include the name/link to the affected endpoint(s) and confirm whether the above script has been run.
