Requirements
Before enabling Huntress Managed Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM) for an organization, verify that the target environment meets all necessary prerequisites.
Confirm that:
The organization has an active Microsoft 365 environment.
The organization has been created and is available on the Huntress Platform.
The Microsoft 365 integration runs application version 6 or newer if Managed ITDR is already active.
The organization is not mapped through a Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) or Control Panel Vendor (CPV).
The organization is not in a Government Community Cloud (GCC) or GCC High environment.
You can authenticate to Microsoft with an appropriate Global Administrator account during the integration setup.
Requirements can change as Managed ISPM and Microsoft 365 support evolve. If the Huntress Platform displays an eligibility or integration warning, treat that status as the current source of truth and contact Huntress Support as needed for clarification.
Microsoft 365 Permissions
During onboarding, Huntress requests administrative permissions to connect with your Microsoft 365 tenant. Review the requested permissions carefully and approve them only after confirming that you selected the correct tenant and products.
The integration uses Microsoft Graph to retrieve and manage the Microsoft 365 configuration needed for your selected Huntress products.
Next Steps After Readiness Confirmation
After the organization meets all prerequisite requirements, complete the integration workflow in the platform to begin managing posture controls:
Log in to the Huntress Platform and navigate to your integrations.
Complete or edit the Microsoft 365 integration.
From the product options, select Managed ISPM.
Complete the Microsoft sign-in and permission-approval flow.
Enable the organization for Managed ISPM.
Allow time for the Huntress Platform to import and evaluate tenant configuration data.
Important Deployment Expectations
Review deployment settings promptly once onboarding completes to ensure all desired posture safeguards take effect.
After onboarding, review the recommended controls and the organization's deployment mode. Managed Deployments apply a curated selection of controls, while other controls might require manual deployment or an explicit rollout schedule.
Troubleshoot Organization Ineligibility
If the Huntress Platform indicates that an organization is not eligible for Managed ISPM, follow these steps to identify the issue:
Review the eligibility message displayed in the Huntress Platform.
Confirm the Microsoft 365 integration status and verify that the application runs version 6 or newer.
Confirm the organization type and cloud environment.
Verify that you selected the correct Microsoft tenant.
Contact Huntress Support if the displayed eligibility reason does not match the organization configuration.
