When you or one of your clients experiences a significant security incident requiring dedicated Incident Response (IR) capabilities beyond Huntress's scope, finding the right specialized help quickly is paramount.

A breach coach consultation with McDonald Hopkins

Huntress is committed to supporting you and your clients during critical moments. We've partnered with McDonald Hopkins to offer a free, globally available, streamlined process for a breach coach consult – at no cost to you or your client.

Who is McDonald Hopkins?

They are a top notch breach consulting firm who work with all of the major cyber insurance carriers and is familiar with the technology channel ecosystem and Huntress. They will suggest incident response (IR) firms that you can work with to address your cybersecurity needs. This is a global service, not restricted to U.S. based partners.
 

How the Service Works:

1. Suggest the Need: Either Huntress, you, or your client suggests the need for external, specialized IR services
    
2. Engage McDonald Hopkins: You should expect a response withing 15 minutes from either method listed below
   • Email mh-huntressincident@mcdonaldhopkins[.]com (remove brackets) OR
   • Call 844[-]HUNT[-]007 / 844[-]486[-]8007 and leave a voicemail with your contact information, and indicate that you are calling for Spencer Pollock or a member of his team and reference that Huntress sent you

This number will not reach Huntress Product or SOC support teams. If you have specific questions or concerns on a Huntress incident report, please reach out via your Incident report or contact our support teams directly. 

1. Provide the following required information:
   • Your Name 
   • Client Name
   • Client Industry
   • Client Main Point of Contact (with phone and email)
   • Insurance Carriers or Brokers
      
2. Expect to answer questions regarding the following (review any relevant Huntress incident reports as they may contain this information):
   • Type of Incident e.g., Ransomware, Other Malware, Intrusion, Unsecured Data
   • Number and Type of Affected Endpoints (Servers and Workstations)
   • Data and Time of First Malicious Activity
   • Date and Time Discovered
   • Physical Location of Infrastructure 
   • Operating Systems and Virtual / Physical
   • Antivirus in Use
   • Endpoint Detection and Response in Use (Huntress EDR and/or others that may be in use)
      
3. Free Breach Consultation: McDonald Hopkins will scope the incident with you/your client to determine the appropriate next steps to create attorney-client privilege. The scoping will include preliminary discussions and recommendations regarding legal requirements, communications, and contractual obligations.
   • Direct Connection: McDonald Hopkins connects you/your client directly with the most appropriate, pre-vetted IR firm suited for their specific situation and needs (considering factors like insurer panels, incident type, tech stack, partnership type, compliance.
