Team: Huntress EDR
Product: Huntress Dashboard (Portal)
Environment: Huntress Dashboard
Summary: Most Huntress services will display times in your local time zone, but changes can easily made to a time zone of your choosing.
UPDATE - June 26, 2023: Previously, all times throughout the Huntress portal were displayed in UTC. Now, Huntress detects browser time and displays that as the primary time zone. The time zone can also be manually set in user settings.
Time Zone Display
As a default, Huntress detects your browser’s time and displays all times across the Huntress portal in that time zone.
An example can be seen here on the agents page. All times are displayed in the local time zone on the page with the UTC offset, and on hover, the UTC time is shown.
Note that the UTC offset will change based on daylight savings adjustments (e.g. Eastern Standard Time is UTC-5 and Eastern Daylight Time is UTC-4).
Changing Time Zone Settings
Settings can be changed on a per-user basis so that the same time zone always gets displayed regardless of browser time. This setting does not get changed account wide.
To update the time zone, navigate to the right hand hamburger menu and click on Preferences (under Profile). Then, choose the desired time zone from the dropdown menu, enter your current password, and press update in order to save these changes. Now all times in the Huntress dashboard will appear in your local time zone! You can mouseover most times to see the conversion to UTC (helpful for looking at our incident reports which will still show in UTC). This setting is strictly for your own login, each user will need to do this inside their own account as this setting does not apply account-wide.
Date Formats
The default format Huntress uses throughout the site for dates is YYYY-MM-DD, following the ISO 8601 standard. This includes the monthly/quarterly reports that we generate. In the future, we may allow users to select their preferred date formats.
