Create a Course in Content Creator

SAT's Content Creator feature gives you the power to create your own eLearning content for your team!

How to Create your first course in your Content Creator

To create your first course in Creator, navigate to the 'Library' tab of the SAT admin platform.

1. Begin by selecting the purple 'Create Content' button: 
   
2. Enter in the Title of your Custom Content and then select 'Create' (the title can be modified later on!):
   
   
3. Click the Plus Button to begin adding content blocks: 
                
4. This will expand and you'll have a few options to choose from:
   
   • Text: The Text option will allow you to customize your Content Block with any Text options from Title, Subtitle, Paragraph, Title & Paragraph or Subtitle & Paragraph.
   • Video: You can upload any .mov/.mp4 file to the Video Content Block.
   • Questions: You can create any question scenario here and add in any pre-determined responses for your Learners to choose from.
   • Slideshow: Create a slideshow to navigate your users through a series of custom slides.
   • Tabbed: Tabbed is a great way to show a number of connected items or names along with providing an explanation of each item.
   • PDF: The PDF block allows admins to upload a PDF file (hosted by Huntress) so that learners who click the link will download the PDF and open it in another tab of their browser.
   • Markdown: The Markdown block allows admins to perform additional text based content such as setting markdowns (ex: headers, lists, bullet points, etc...) but also allows for the embedding of third party (YouTube and Vimeo) videos. 
     

Let's start with the Text option:

If you would like to add a new line in your paragraph, you must use the HTML format code <br>.

1. Upon selecting the Gear Icon, this will expand your Block Settings option on the right-hand side of your screen. 
2. Under the Content Tab, under Block Settings, is where you'll want to select the Type of text you want to appear on your Text Content Block:
3. Here are what the different Text options will look like to help you determine what will work best for you!:
   1. Title Slide
   2. Subtitle
   3. Paragraph
   4. Title & Paragraph
   5. Subtitle & Paragraph
4. You can also add in a Hex Color Code for your font:
5. And upload an Image as well:
6. If you'd like to add in a Background Image, select the Background option in the Block Settings panel and upload any Image to add as a background here. 

For the Video Option:

1. Upon selecting the Gear Icon, this will expand your Block Settings option on the right-hand side of your screen:
2. You can Upload your .mov/.mp4 of your choice here and upload .VTT files for adding captions to your videos:
3. You can also add in a Background Image and update the Background Color using Hex Color Codes:
4. Once you're happy with your Background options, select Update:
5. Now you've successfully uploaded your video to the Content Creator!:
   
   

For the Questions Option:

1. Upon selecting the Gear Icon, this will expand your Block Settings option on the right-hand side of your screen:
2. Under the Content Tab, under Block Settings, is where you'll want to type out your Question in the Question Field:
3. Once you type out your Question, you can navigate to the field below and place it in your first Answer field and select 'Add Option':
4. You'll continue to use the same Answer Field and select Add Option to apply your answers:
5. After you've submitted all of your Answer options, select the dot to the left of the Correct Answer that should be selected:
6. You can also add in an Explanation field and select SAVE:
7. Adjust your Background Color with your Hex Color Code or Upload a Background image to customize your Question Content Block:
8. Your completed Questions Content Block will look something like this!:

For the Slideshow Option:

1. Upon selecting the Gear Icon, this will expand your Block Settings option on the right-hand side of your screen:
2. Under the Content Tab, under Block Settings, is where you'll want to type out the Title of your Slideshow. Update the Text Font by selecting your Hex Color Code and then select SAVE!:
3. You can also add in a Paragraph with your Title with the same customizable features as before. Don't forget to select Save!:
4. There will also be a Navigation Text option which will appear as a button. You can also customize your Navigation Text with the Font Color, Background Color, and a Hover Color option:
5. To add additional Slides, select the purple Add Slide Button:
6. As you continue to add Slides, make sure that you're saving your Text and Paragraphs!:
7. If you'd like to upload a background image, make sure to select the Background option of your Block Settings:
8. Now you've created your Slideshow in your Content Creator!
   
   

For the Tabbed Option:

1. Upon selecting the Gear Icon, this will expand your Block Settings option on the right-hand side of your screen.
2. This is where you'll want to add in your Title for your Tabbed Content Block. Add in a Paragraph as well for any additional explanation or direction for your Learners.
3. Select the 'Add Tab' button to create your first Tab along with your Tabbed Paragraph:
4. Make sure to select the Save Button for the Title and Paragraph:
5. When you're ready to add in another Tab, select the 'Add Tab' button:
6. Continue to add in your Tabbed Title along with the Paragraph to add in your description 
7. Once you've added in your Tabbed option, select the Background option to add in a Background for your Tabbed Content Block:
8. Your final Tabbed Content Block should look something like this:

For the PDF Option: 

• Upon selecting the Gear Icon, this will expand your Block Settings option on the right-hand side of your screen:
  
• You can upload the .PDF of your choice here, change from title to title and paragraph if more text explaining the .PDF contents is required. You may also add file link text and link color to your .PDF.
  Admins can delete the PDF by clicking "clear."
  
  
• You can also add in a Background Image and update the Background Color using Hex Color Codes:
  
  
• Once you're happy with your Background options, select Update:
  
  

Now you've successfully uploaded your PDF block to the Content Creator!: 

If the "Required to click before continuing" option is toggled, learners will be prevented from moving forward in the training until they click the link to the PDF.

For the Markdown Option:

1. Upon selecting the Gear Icon, this will expand your Block Settings option on the right-hand side of your screen.
   
   
   
2. The text box will accept standard Markdown to format your text. To learn Markdown basics, we recommend this guide [https://www.markdownguide.org/basic-syntax/]  
3. If you want to embed a video hosted on youtube.com or vimeo.com, simply place the full URL of the video in the content box. eg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ  or https://vimeo.com/334261634
4. You can also change the colors of heading tagged text (h1->h6), links, and any text other than headings or links.
5. If you'd like to add in a Background Image, select the Background option in the Block Settings panel and upload any Image to add as a background

Preview your Content Blocks

Once you've created your Content Blocks, you can Preview what you've created thus far by selecting the 'Preview' Button located on the top right-hand corner of your Content Creator page:

Now you can admire the content you've created!:

Settings:

1. Select your Settings option on the top right-hand corner
2. This is where you can add in your Title for your Content along with a brief Description. This will be visible to your Learners!:
3. Under Status, you can leave your Content under a Draft Status if you're not ready to launch your Content Creator just yet. If you are ready to, you can Publish your Content:
4. Preview Image: You can change the primary image used throughout the learner platform here:
5. Email Image: change the hero image that is used throughout various emails that go out to your Learners:
6. Objectives: What are the key objectives your learners will learn from this Content Creator can be added here:
