How to clear Cached Email addresses for different email clients

Huntress has recently changed some configurations with the Support@Huntress.com email address. With these changes, the GUID has also changed. This may result in the cached email addresses support@huntress.com in various email clients not working correctly for a period of time. Even though the email address remains the same, the GUID will no longer match up, resulting in a bounce message.

 

This Guide is intended to walk you through clearing the cache on Support@Huntress.com in various email clients. 

Outlook 365, 2019, and 2016 clients. 

  1. Open a new email.
  2. Start typing the email address Support@Huntress.com in the "To" field. 
  3. When the autocomplete suggestions appear, hover over the email address.
  4. Click the "X" next to the email address to remove it.
  5. Type out the full email address Support@Huntress.com
  6. Finish compiling the email and then press send. 
    This will cache the email address Support@huntress.com with its new corresponding GUID. 

Outlook Web Access (OWA)

  1. Log into your email
  2. Open a New Email
  3. Start typing the email address "Support@Huntress.com" in the "To" field.
  4. Hover over the unwanted suggestion and click the trash icon or "X."
  5. Type out the full email address Support@Huntress.com
  6. Finish compiling the email and then press send. 
    This will cache the email address Support@huntress.com with its new corresponding GUID. 

Apple Mail

  1. Launch the Mail app on your Mac
  2. Click Window > Previous Recipients, from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Scroll through the list, or use the search bar to locate Support@Huntress.com
  4. Select the email address, and then click the Remove From List button at the bottom of the window.
  5. Close the Previous Recipients window and generate a new email by typing the full email address Support@Huntress.com.

For all other email clients.


Thunderbird, BlueMail, Spark, Airmail, Postbox, Canary Mail, Newton Mail, eM Client,  HEY (Basecamp), Mailspring and Spark, the process will be very similar to whats listed above. If you run into any issues or have additional questions please let us know.
