Summary: Instructions for Account Admin and Security Engineer users to add Incident Notification Contacts within Account Settings.
This is an important part of incident preparation at Huntress. Think of these as emergency contacts. These are where you list the people to contact if a critical incident happens in the middle of the night, over the weekend, or anytime. This is crucial to ensure the right stakeholders in your company are notified. This will also be the list Huntress SOC Support will pull from if we need to reach out to you about any ongoing incidents in your environment in addition to an incident report. Follow these steps if you would like to be alerted via call and/or text when a Critical Incident is reported by the Huntress Security Operation Center (SOC).
International phone contacts can now be added! See the list of supported countries Huntress can call and text below.
Text and calls will come from the following number: 1-667-771-4770. Huntress recommends adding our phone number to your phone's contacts so we do not get blocked by your carrier and so you quickly recognize who is texting or calling you during a critical incident.
Avoid Smishing Scams! Huntress will never text you a hyperlink to click within automated SMS texts.
Setting up Critical Incident Outreach Contacts
-
- Login to the Huntress Dashboard.
- Hover over the Huntress options menu in the upper-right corner of the dashboard and select the "Settings" option from the list.
- Under Incident Notification Contacts, you can select "Add Contact."
- Fill in your Contact Name and Phone Number. This is the phone number where SMS texts and phone calls will be received when critical severity incident reports are sent by the Huntress SOC.
- Verify your contact number. Please enter the 6 digit pin code sent to your phone.
- Login to the Huntress Dashboard.
Example Text from Huntress
Notification Details
- Only 1 SMS text and/or call notification will be sent per unique entity (user or endpoint) over a 24 hr period.
- For example if `MyComputer` endpoint is associated to a critical incident report sent at 12PM EST and then another critical incident is sent at 3PM EST for the same MyComputer endpoint, only 1 notification will be sent.

As of now, you only support US phone numbers. Please let us know when you add support for international numbers.
Apparently, even if you only want Call, and not SMS, you can only use a cell number. Tried having it call our help desk (voice only) number, and apparently it needs/tries to text a verification code in order to validate the number and activate it. So looks like no way to have it call a number that's not a cell number :(
Thank you for the feedback Jeff and Bjorn! This was definitely an MVP release for this feature. The product team is hard at work to improve it.
We soon plan to support international calling, targeting the UK, Canada, Aus, and NZ first. Are you based in Norway C10-Bjørn? I can add that to our shortlist of next up country support.
Jeff Reingold thank you for input as well. Definitely an enhancement we need to make soon. We are in the process of changing our backend telephone/messaging system. Once that is complete, your ask (along with international support) is at the top of our list. I am thinking we will provide a call to provide the verification pin.
C10-Bjørn support for Norway is now available. Please let our support team know if you have any trouble adding/verifying your number.
Jeff Reingold the verification code can now be received via phone.
Confirmed - I just tried and I was able to successfully setup a call-only notification to a voice line. Thanks!
Patrick Sofo great!
Please, add Bangladesh and Japan in your international support
