Huntress defines a billable user as a real world person with Microsoft 365 licensing.
We evaluate a billable user as ANY Microsoft 365 identity associated with a Microsoft 365 license.
Huntress takes care to exclude from that licensed identities total the count of licensed Microsoft 365 identities with licensing that's not representative of a physical person, for example, PHONESYSTEM_VIRTUALUSER
.
How can I see my billable count?
- API on organizations and billing report endpoints
- In Huntress portal, organizations page, Microsoft 365 Users column
- In Huntress portal filter available on M365 Users list (screenshot coming soon)
Unfortunately, we make mistakes, if you feel there's a license that we should be excluding, please contact your Huntress Representative or Support. We're constantly tuning the licensing process to best meet mutual expectations and deliver a good experience.
Note: Billable Users in the Organization Tab and the MDR for Microsoft 365 Billable User Section may be mismatched. If this is the case, please wait until the next day as there is a daily job running to sync them.
** N.b. There are over 3,000 Microsoft 365 SKUs that are constantly evolving, we try to keep ahead but it's not easy.
